Are you looking to acquire other B2B companies to boost your valuation?

I’ve noticed a sharp uptick in H2 2024 of shareholders actively looking to acquire other businesses, in order to grow organically, en route to an exit.

But not all acquisitions are created equal.

Let’s cut to the chase. The most potent opportunities that will increase your valuation will either provide you with complementary tech, open up new markets, deliver vertical or horizontal integration – or connect you with talent.

But it goes without saying: the wrong acquisition can be extremely costly.

So before you take the plunge, ask yourself:

  • Does this acquisition fit with our long-term strategy and culture?
  • What’s the effort required to integrate the new business?
  • What’s our plan to retain key talent and customers?
  • Does the ROI justify the price you’re paying?

But be aware.

M&A is becoming much more competitive right now. To win you must be relentless in identifying, nurturing and closing ONLY the acquistions that will make the biggest difference to the value of your business.
