So you’d better be measuring the right things…

I see a massive range of metrics which founders use to monitor performance and help with their decision making.

Some measure too many metrics, other not enough.

And the worst of all → founders who don’t understand what the metric is telling them or what exact steps to take when their dashboard flashes red.

One of our partner companies had a slowdown in their sales pipeline velocity earlier this year, which impacted on cash flow a few months later.

The main cause was a fixable sales and marketing problem.

But it took them too long to notice – they weren’t actively monitoring this metric and it was hidden by their long sales cycle.
